Entry requirements will be eased for fully vaccinated holidaymakers wishing to travel to Australia. From April 17, a negative test for the corona virus no longer has to be presented upon entry.
However, entry is still made more difficult for people who cannot provide proof of vaccination. They still have to apply for an exemption if they want to visit Australia. The mask requirement at airports and on board aircraft or cruise ships also remains in place, as reported by Reise-vor-9. Until April 16, holidaymakers must still present a PCR test no more than 72 hours old or an antigen test no more than 24 hours old upon entry. An entry form must also be filled out.
As part of the new entry regulations, it was also announced that international cruises would be allowed again from April 17th. Guests on a cruise ship must therefore be vaccinated at least twice against the corona virus. In addition, as Check24 reports, masks are compulsory in many areas on board cruise ships. In the pre-pandemic year of 2019, around 600.000 passengers arrived in Australia on cruises.
