Easter holidays 2024: Munich expects two million passengers

The Easter holidays of 2024 will begin in Germany in a few days. Munich Airport assumes that there will be around 14.000 take-offs and landings during this period. Around 300.000 passengers are expected for the first weekend.

The airlines operating at Germany's second-largest airport have already given feedback that they have particularly good booking figures. 14.100 commercial flight movements to 184 destinations have been registered. This applies to the period from March 22nd to April 7th, 2024.

On the first holiday weekend alone from Friday to Sunday, almost 2.400 aircraft will take off and land at Munich Airport and over 300.000 passengers are expected. In total, Munich Airport GmbH expects a total of almost two million passengers during the Easter holidays. Numerous destinations around the world are served from Munich Airport. Planes take off almost 1.800 times during the Easter holidays to a total of 42 destinations in France, Italy, Portugal and Spain. The Mediterranean states of Egypt, Greece and Turkey also promise warm temperatures. A total of around 540 aircraft head to these countries from Munich. The most frequently flown European capitals are London, Amsterdam and Paris, with a total of over 580 flights during the Easter holidays.

There is great demand for holiday traffic towards North America and Asia: a total of 340 aircraft will take off to 15 destinations in the USA and Canada during the Easter holidays. Around 230 times it goes to China, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. Over 120 launches lead to destinations in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
