Germany: Meer Express throws in the towel

Germany: Meer Express throws in the towel

After only one season, the Tuifly pilot Simon Huthwelker discontinues the Meer Express that he launched. So far, domestic German flights from Dinslaken / Schwarze Heide have been offered.

Propeller aircraft with nine seats were used. According to Meer Express, this is exactly the reason for giving up the project. The reason for the attitude is as follows: “Unfortunately we have to inform you that we will not fly into another season due to the political decisions to be expected at EU and national level. The additional environmental costs for our aircraft with nine seats will be too high for us to be able to offer you profitable and fair prices in the medium term ”.

Passengers who have already bought tickets for the 2022 season should be contacted by Meer Express as soon as possible in order to initiate repayment of the ticket price. According to reports, one wants to reimburse, among other things, by bank transfer, so that the IBAN has to be requested from the customer.
