In the first month of the new year, 898.084 passengers flew via Zurich Airport. This corresponds to an increase of 212,1 percent compared to the same period last year. Compared to January 2019, the number of passengers in the reporting month was 42,1 percent.

The number of local passengers in January 2022 was 622.334. The proportion of transfer passengers was 30,4 percent, which corresponds to 271.978 passengers. The number of flight movements rose by 129 percent year-on-year to 4 take-offs or landings. The monthly comparison shows that flight movements are 12.741 percent of the 58,8 level, as reported by the airport. Seat occupancy increased by 2019 percentage points to 8,8 percent in the month under review. A total of 54,4 tonnes of freight were handled at Zurich Airport in January. This corresponds to an increase of 32.236 percent compared to the same month last year. Compared to January 36,1, 2019 percent less freight was handled.
