Vietnam is once again allowing international tourists to enter the country without quarantine.
According to the ORF, either a negative PCR test, which must not be older than 72 hours upon arrival, or a negative rapid antigen test that is no more than 24 hours old is required. Anyone who arrives without a test must be tested within 24 hours of arrival and can then leave their accommodation if the result is negative. A certificate certifying a double coronavirus vaccination is not required - however, travelers must use a Covid app approved in Vietnam. Children under the age of two are exempt from the test requirement.
The day before, the Vietnamese government had reintroduced visa rules that applied before the pandemic. According to these, travelers from 13 countries can stay in the Southeast Asian country for up to 15 days without a visa. Austrian citizens, on the other hand, need a visa.
