From Monday, all Austrian Airlines passengers over the age of 14 must wear FFP2 masks. The General Conditions of Carriage have been adjusted due to the latest change in the Covid Emergency Measures Ordinance of the Austrian Federal Government.
In a broadcast, the carrier advises that FFP2 masks with a valve are not permitted. Children between the ages of six and 13 can continue to wear a normal MNS mask. Younger people are still exempt from the obligation. Anyone who cannot wear an FFP2 mask for health reasons must submit a medical certificate on a form from Austrian Airlines as well as a negative test result, which must not be older than 48 hours. The crews must also wear FFP2 masks.
“Travel and health protection go hand in hand. The extensive protective measures on board are easily accepted and implemented by the majority of our passengers. I am convinced that the FFP2 mask will quickly become a new travel companion, ”explains Austrian Airlines COO Jens Ritter.
