The Greek Aegean Airlines will add three additional ATR2022-72s to the fleet in the first quarter of 600. These are used aircraft that are bought from a Singapore lessor.
According to CH-Aviation.com, these are said to be machines that were previously in use at Virgin Australia Regional. These were returned to the lessor in the course of the corona pandemic. The three machines have not yet been described in more detail. The specialist medium reports that the Singapore lessor owns a total of five ATR72-600s that were previously used by Virgin.
The three turboprop aircraft are to be handed over to Aegean Airlines in the next few months. It is to be expected that these will be handed over to the subsidiary Olympic Air for operation. Flight plan data suggests that the DHC Dash 8-400 fleet could be abandoned in return. However, this has not yet been officially confirmed.
