The UK subsidiary of Aer Lingus has now received AOC and operating licenses from the UK Civil Aviation Authority. The carrier is now authorized to operate the A330 and A321LR commercially.

One A330 is currently registered on the AOC. An identical machine and an A321LR are to follow shortly. All aircraft come from the Irish parent company. Aer Lingus UK is formally headquartered in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The first operational base is to be started in Manchester.

The first flight is scheduled to take place on July 29, 2021 under the EI code. At the same time, they have a code share agreement with sister company British Airways. Aer Lingus UK will initially focus on routes from Manchester to the United States of America. The necessary approval from the US American DOT is expected in the next few days.
