Aer Lingus postpones Manchester launch

Aer Lingus UK will postpone long-haul flights from Manchester significantly. Originally, the plan was to take off on July 29, 2021, but now it should not start until September 30, 2021.

Aer Lingus announced a few months ago that it would move capacity from Shannon to Manchester. Due to the Brexit, the establishment of a UK branch was necessary. This is to offer long-haul flights to New York with the Airbus A330 and A321LR. The necessary approvals have already been received.

One of the reasons for the postponement of the first flight is that the lifting of travel restrictions between the United Kingdom and the USA is currently not foreseeable. It is expected that it will be the end of September 2021. The connection to Orlando is also affected. The Boston route is not expected to start until the summer of 2022.
