After Swiss and Wizz Air, Air Baltic is also introducing compulsory vaccination against Covid-19 in Europe. So far, this has only been a condition for new hires.

The existing workforce must now also provide evidence of the full Covid vaccination. The carrier explains, among other things, that 87 percent of employees are currently fully vaccinated. The other employees must prove by November 15, 2021 that they have had at least the first vaccination administered. There is then a transition period for receiving the second trick.

How Air Baltic will deal with employees who do not want to be vaccinated is currently unclear. With competitors like Swiss, the employment contract can be terminated. Legally, the compulsory vaccination is also controversial in Latvia.
