The order is to replace the only Airbus A330-200. This is mainly used in traffic between Kangerlussuaq and Copenhagen. CH-Aviation.com writes that Air Greenland will also use the Airbus A330neo from Nuuk and Ilulissat in the future. The runways are currently being renovated and completion is expected in 2023.

Air Greenland will later take over an Airbus A330neo that was ordered in March this year. Originally, the machine should have been delivered at the end of 2021. Now the state carrier has agreed on a new date: fourth quarter 2022.
