Air Moldova will fly to Russia again from October

Air Moldova has announced the resumption of the flight connection between Moscow and Chisinau from October 1st.

In February, the connection was put on hold as a result of the Ukraine war. To date, there have been no signs that the airline wants to fly to the airport again. But on the contrary. For days, the media have been eyeing which country would be next invaded by the Russians. At the top of the list: the Republic of Moldova. Ironically, Air Moldova will resume flights to Moscow on October 1st. The flights are already available for booking on the carrier's website. The airline’s planes take off for Moscow on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with two flights a day – a total of ten departures a week.

“Air Moldova will resume operations to Moscow from October 1, after being suspended in February 2022. This decision is the result of numerous requests from citizens of the Republic of Moldova who are staying in the Russian Federation and wish to return home,” the airline said.

Before Russian troops invaded Ukraine, the airline offered flights to St. Petersburg and Krasnodar in addition to flights to Moscow. Air Moldova has not yet revealed whether flights to the latter two Russian cities will resume in the future.
