Air Serbia is scheduled to launch non-stop service between Belgrade and Tianjin (China) in October 2022. This was announced by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. Hainan Airlines recently started flights between Beijing and Belgrade.
The exact date for the first flight on the announced Air Serbia route has not yet been determined. The background is also that the governments of China and Serbia still have to issue the formal permits. The two countries are also currently negotiating a free trade agreement, which should be signed by the end of 2022.
Air Serbia plans to operate its Airbus A330-200 on this route. Air Serbia is one of the few European airlines allowed to use Russian airspace. In addition, Air Serbia still flies to Moscow and St. Petersburg.
