Alitalia will cease operations on October 14, 2021

On the evening of October 14, 2021, Alitalia will finally cease flight operations. The next day, the successor ITA takes over, although it is still unclear under which brand. The "old airline" announced that all flights after October 14, 2021 have been canceled.

ITA will purchase some assets from Alitalia, but not including the trademark rights. These have to be bought in a public auction. Passengers who have purchased tickets for flights from October 15, 2021 can be rebooked for dates up to and including October 14, 2021. Alternatively, a full refund is offered.

Existing bookings should not be transferred from Alitalia to ITA, which is why we recommend that you get the money refunded and re-book your tickets for long-term tickets. The "old airline" is in insolvency proceedings and is to be liquidated.
