Last month, Switzerland's largest airport counted exactly 2.161.554 passengers. This means that three quarters of the pre-crisis level has been reached.
This corresponds to an increase of 248 percent compared to the same period last year, as reported by the airport in a broadcast. Compared to June 2019, the number of passengers in the reporting month would be 75 percent. The number of flight movements rose by 96 percent to 20.079 take-offs or landings compared to the same month last year.
The airport is also growing in the cargo area: A total of 34.937 tons of cargo were handled at Zurich Airport in June – this corresponds to an increase of 13 percent compared to the same month last year. Nevertheless, compared to the same month before the crisis, 5 percent less freight was handled.
