American Airlines is aiming to re-use the Boeing 737-Max aircraft from December 29, 2020. Initially, this could take place on the New York-La Guardia-Miami route, reports Bloomberg, citing the reservation system.
Neither the FAA nor the EASA have yet issued the necessary re-approval, but both authorities clearly indicated that it could be done before the end of the year. The updates and modifications made by the manufacturer are said to have been satisfactory.
Bloomberg writes that American Airlines will indicate when booking that the flight will be operated with Boeing 737-Max. On most routes, other types of machine will also be used, so that passengers who do not trust this pattern will also find alternatives. A binding date for a possible re-registration of the Boeing 737-Max has not yet been set. Those airlines that were eager for the appointment suspect that it could be there very soon.
