Three aircraft from the airline's Airbus A380 fleet stand out in particular. Because these are brightly painted, in the style of flying sea turtles. Because of the pandemic, the audience favorites had to sit out – but soon the “flying turtles” will be back in the air.

As demand recovers, Japan's All Nippon Airways will resume operating its Airbus A1s with the special livery on flights between Japan and Hawaii from July 380. The planes are only used on a single route: they operate between the popular holiday route of Tokyo and Honolulu in Hawaii. On this flight route, ANA will also – without the A380 – increase the frequency to four weekly rotations from the end of May and then even to five from July.

ANA's Flying Honu fleet consists of three Airbus A380s, the first of which entered service in May 2019 and is painted blue to represent the blue skies of Hawaii. The second Flying Honu is emerald green, inspired by the crystal clear waters of the Hawaiian Ocean. Finally, the third Flying Honu is painted orange, inspired by the Hawaiian sunset.
