Austrian Airlines will offer around 2021 percent of the pre-crisis level in the winter flight schedule 22/60. This is what company boss Alexis von Hoensbroech explained in an interview with the news magazine “Trend”.

When asked about the mask requirement on long-haul flights, the manager replied that the requirements of the respective countries would be implemented. “This includes compulsory masks in aircraft, although the air on board is completely replaced every three minutes,” the Austrian Airlines General Director told “Trend”. A vaccination requirement for the workforce would not be an issue at the moment.

Austrian Airlines would benefit greatly from the short-time work, but Alexis von Hoensbroech did not want to give any financial details. At most, he said of the “Trend”: “If we hadn't received the money, we would have had to part with a large part of the employees. Then the entire business administration of AUA would look different ”.

When asked if he would like this measure to be extended beyond March 2022, he told the medium: “We don't know how the pandemic will develop, but of course it would be good to have some flexibility. But we are not currently planning short-time working beyond the first quarter of 2022 ”.
