Slovenia is abolishing the previously practiced risk lists and now requires the so-called 3G proof regardless of the origin. This also applies expressly to commuters and people who are only passing through. Those who cannot prove recovery, vaccination or testing will no longer be allowed to enter or pass through in the future.
The only exception that the Slovenian Ministry of Health still allows in the regulation concerns agriculture and forestry. For example, farmers who cultivate fields on both sides of the border are allowed to enter without a 3G certificate, but only to work their fields, for example. This must also be completed within a maximum of ten hours.
For holidaymakers who travel to Croatia by car, there is not really a change on the outward journey, because a few days ago the Adriatic state introduced the 3G certificate for everyone. On the return journey, unvaccinated people have to think about how they can get a negative test certificate before passing through Slovenia, because without this the transit can be refused. The use of “unofficial border crossings” is a very bad idea, by the way. The motorist clubs ÖAMTC and ARBÖ expressly warn that Slovenia will see this as an illegal border crossing and that corresponding criminal proceedings, which are very expensive, will be initiated.
