Belavia: lessor collects three Embraer 195-E2s

The airline Belavia had to fly out three Embraer 26-E2021 aircraft on October 195, 2 at the instruction of the lessor. The three aircraft are owned by Bandeira Aircraft Leasing Ltd, Ireland, and managed by AerCap.

The EW-555PO, EW-560PO and EW-563PO are affected. The three Embraer 195-E2 took off on October 26, 2021 one after the other under the flight numbers B22023, B22025 and B22027 from Minsk with the destination Nur-Sultan. At the Kazakh airport, these are stored on the instructions of the Irish owner.

With this, the first Lessor received - probably under political pressure - aircraft leased to Belavia. Neither the airline nor the owner of the three Embraer 195-E2s wanted to comment on the retrieval of the aircraft mentioned in the previous paragraph. It is also unclear whether other Western Lessors will interrupt or terminate the contracts with Belavia.

The state-owned airline Belarus leasing company is currently leasing around 20 machines from AerCap (six aircraft), Air Lease Corporation (one aircraft), Altavair (two aircraft), Carpatair (one aircraft), Merx Aviation Finance (one aircraft), Nordic Aviation Capital (seven Aircraft), SMBC Aviation Capital (one aircraft), and Thunderbolt Aircraft Lease (one aircraft). Boeing 737-Max that have not yet been delivered are not taken into account.
