Only a few months after the re-admission of Boeing's B737-Max crisis jet, new problems were discovered. The manufacturer has now asked a total of 16 customers to leave their machines on the ground for the time being.
According to Boeing, there is an electronics problem that could occur with certain Boeing 737 Max that have not been specified. Customers have been urged to verify that a particular component is adequately grounded. As long as this check or, if necessary, replacement has not taken place, the manufacturer strongly advises against using the affected 737 Max.
Boeing writes in a public statement that it is a problem that arose in the course of production. One would, among other things, work closely with the US American supervisory authority FAA. According to the company's own information, the affected jets have already been identified, so that the entire series should not be affected. Some US airlines have nevertheless suspended the operation of the 737-Max as a precaution.
