The Lufthansa subsidiary Brussels Airlines will fleet three medium-haul Airbus A2023neo jets in 320. The Lufthansa Executive Board and the SN Airholding Supervisory Board gave the go-ahead for this on Tuesday.

“Of course we are very pleased to welcome the Airbus A320neo to our fleet. The modern General Electric CFM engines of the Airbus A320neo are known for their fuel efficiency and lower noise contour. In addition, with the three new aircraft, we will come closer to our goal of a fully harmonized A320 medium-haul fleet purely on aircraft and thus further reduce not only the complexity of our maintenance & engineering activities, but also of the entire operation. Due to the close resemblance to the current fleet, the crews are able to operate the new aircraft after a short training period. This makes the integration seamless, ”says Brussels boss Peter Gerber.

Brussels Airlines currently has 38 aircraft in its total fleet, including eight long-haul Airbus A330s and 30 medium-haul aircraft (16 A320s and 14 A319s).
