The Austrian Dieter Haselsteiner has launched a new book that presents 100 smaller airports in Europe. Some of these are less known to die-hard aviation aficionados, but they have scheduled flights.

In a work that carries the title “Remote, small but essential - an indispensable guide to a selection of 100 European regional airports”, the author deals intensively with the significance for the regions, because many of the airports presented are located in, in some cases, strong remote areas.

“The portrayed airports are so interesting because they represent an indispensable infrastructure for the local population in order to ensure, in addition to medical care, ethnic traffic, tourism and access to the world because alternative modes of transport are not available or are only very weak. In the book you will find, among other things, the world's most northerly commercially operated airport, the only airport in the world that uses the beach as a runway, and those airports that are connected by the world's shortest scheduled flight. Embark on an exciting journey to remote places in Europe that are worth discovering, ”Haselsteiner told Aviation.Direct.

The new book was self-published and is currently available on Amazon at a price of 29,95 euros. This is a printed paperback with 136 pages and written in English. Interested parties can visit the work at this link order or view a free reading sample.
