The North American country bordering the USA in the south is putting its plan into practice: Canada will finally abolish the remaining corona entry restrictions from October 1st.
So far, proof of full corona vaccination protection was a mandatory requirement in order to be allowed to cross the Canadian border. From next Saturday, those arriving will no longer have to present such a document, and a negative test notification will no longer be necessary. In addition, there is no longer any obligation to register online via a Corona app before entering the country, as reported by the online portal Reisevor9. In the event of an infection, quarantine and isolation are no longer mandatory, but voluntary.
Within Canada, the requirements for travelers are also relaxed. Anyone who uses public transport such as trains and planes will no longer be required to wear mouth and nose protection from October. However, the authorities expressly recommend that travelers put on the mask voluntarily. According to Canada's Minister of Health, the worst is over in the North American country. According to current projections, the last wave of the pandemic, triggered by the corona subvariants BA.4 and BA.5, has passed its peak and the number of infections is declining again.
