The German Federal Cartel Office has opened official proceedings against Lufthansa on the basis of the complaint brought by Condor. The authority declares that a decision should be made promptly.

The background to this is that the crane has terminated a cooperation agreement that enables Condor to market Lufthansa connections from feeder flights. The holiday airline, which was once a subsidiary of the Kranich Group, sees this as an abuse of a dominant position and brought one Complaint to the Federal Cartel Office on. Lufthansa, on the other hand, wants to strengthen its own connections and twice with the new brand Eurowings Discover almost all Condor long-haul routes.

Since the pronounced termination will take effect in June 2021, the Federal Cartel Office now wants to make a quick decision. A spokesman said the matter was "urgent" on Thursday. Both companies were asked to comment in writing. A decision should be made as soon as possible.

Employee representatives criticize the dispute between Lufthansa and Condorbecause both companies were rescued with government funding. It is demanded that tax money must not be used for cut-throat competition.
