The head of the German Federal Police admitted that the verification of the documents required for entry into the Federal Republic of Germany, such as entry registrations, is not going smoothly. The airlines are therefore only inadequately complying with the orders.

The government requires carriers to verify that the electronic entry declaration has been made or not before boarding. If necessary, negative test results should also be viewed. However, in most German federal states there are exceptions for certain groups of people who either do not require registration or a test. There are also very few cases in which neither is required. The vast majority should actually present the documents at boarding at the latest, otherwise, according to the German order, transport must be refused.

According to Federal Police President Dieter Romann, this does not work in practice. In an interview with “Bild am Sonntag” he even accuses the airlines of “irresponsible behavior” and points out that the local health authorities can impose fines of up to 25.000 euros on transport companies for each violation and passenger.

In the last six days alone, according to Romann, around 600 cases were found in which the entry regulations were disregarded. In some cases, neither the entry registration nor the corona test findings were available. Entry bans are also said to have been circumvented. Now you want to put pressure on the airlines and get them to check the documents by means of high fines.
