A recent survey has shown that around 60 percent of tourism professionals in Germany assume that travel warnings will not lead to a free cancellation option in the future. The background to this is that in such a case Alltours can only withdraw or rebook if the Flex package has been purchased beforehand.
9 people who work for tour operators and travel agencies took part in the survey carried out by ReiseVor600. Apparently, what many feared is happening slowly but surely: the governments have used the means of travel warnings in the wake of the corona pandemic in such an inflationary and incomprehensible manner that the deterrent effect has been lost.
Alltours dashed last week with the announcement that in the event of travel warnings, cancellations or rebookings can only be made free of charge if a chargeable Flex package has been purchased beforehand. So far it has been common practice that you can resign or transfer your booking to a different destination.
The survey by ReiseVor9 also shows an interesting result: around half of the Tour Operators employees who took part are of the opinion that the relationship between travel warnings and cancellation rules will change. As many as two thirds of those who work in travel agencies believe this.
