From Thursday, May 20, 2021, new entry rules will apply in Germany. These bring relief for the vaccinated and convalescent. These are exempt from the obligation to test and quarantine, provided that the relevant evidence can be provided.
But there is a "catch": This advantage only applies if you come from a so-called "risk area". The Robert Koch Institute applies this stigma to states and regions with a seven-day incidence of 50 to 100.000 inhabitants or more. However, if the area is classified as a high incidence or virus variant area, a negative test is still required. Then a quarantine has to be started, from which you can “free yourself” after five days.
The obligation to submit negative test results does not change for people who have not been vaccinated or have recovered. This also expressly includes non-risk areas, because the obligation to test should be retained. As a result, only those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered benefit from the new regulation. The quarantine obligation also remains in place for non-vaccinated and non-convalescents in high-risk areas. These only have to come from non-risk areas, not in isolation, but nevertheless present a negative result.
