In contrast to its competitor Ryanair, the low-cost airline Wizz Air was able to benefit from the Christmas business in December 2020. The carrier carried 665.722 passengers with a load factor of 56,10 percent.

In November 2020, the group had 456.487 passengers on board. However, the load factor was higher at 68,2 percent. Over the whole of 2020, 16.669.124 flew with WIzz Air. The decrease - in direct comparison with 2019 - is therefore around 58,12 percent. The new Wizz Air Abu Dhabi offshoot will be launched in mid-January 2021. Flights to Europe are also planned, including Athens and Thessaloniki.
