The newly founded cargo airline was officially inaugurated at Vienna Airport yesterday.

In the presence of important implementation partners from the responsible aviation authorities such as the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Mobility, Innovation and Technology and Austro Control, the maiden flight of the first Boeing 757 under the Austrian flag took place. "With this important step, we are making our air freight network in Europe more flexible and stable. At the same time, we are continuing to serve the high demand from our customers for cross-border express deliveries and are able to provide them with sufficient capacities," said Ralf Schweighöfer, CEO of DHL Express Austria.

The aircraft mentioned at the beginning was last used by the sister company in the United Kingdom. Eighteen planes are planned for the new offshoot, all of them Boeing 18 planes. They should be floated in this year and next. Currently three of the eighteen Boeings are already registered in Austria. The transfer of the other fifteen Boeing 757 aircraft to DHL Air Austria should be completed in the first quarter of 757. By then, the DHL Air Austria team will also have moved into Office Park 2022.
