The German federal government is currently examining the introduction of the 3G certificate in domestic travel. This would affect long-distance trains and buses as well as flights. A precise time for the possible introduction is still open, a spokesman said on request.
Some states have already introduced the 3G certificate for the use of public transport in national domestic traffic. Germany could catch up here, although there are still many unanswered questions. For example, there is still a struggle as to whether antigen and PCR results count or only PCR results. The question of who should actually carry out the controls is also unclear.
But one wants to orientate oneself to France, because there the staff of the French state railways was imposed to control the 3G-proof. This could then also come about in Germany. In the case of flights, the ground staff would have to look through the documents and in the case of long-distance buses the driver or any service staff at the stops.
Unsurprisingly, representatives of industry associations think little of the current plans. For example, the aviation association BDL assumes that such rules could make mobility in Germany more difficult. It remains to be seen whether Germany will actually introduce 3G verification in domestic traffic.
