The Hungarian airline Wizz Air started the new flight connection from Dortmund to Plovdiv today. From now on, the airline will fly twice a week to the second largest city in Bulgaria - on Wednesdays and Sundays.

In addition to Burgas, Sofia and Varna, Plovdiv is the fourth destination in Bulgaria that travelers with Wizz Air can reach directly from Dortmund. "Wizz Air connects Dortmund with one of the oldest cities in Europe, which many are not even aware of," commented Guido Miletic on the first flight, Head of Airport Services and Marketing at Dortmund Airport. "With its mix of ancient history and modern culture, Plovdiv is an insider tip away from the ordinary."
