From August 1st, Premium Economy will initially be available on busy routes such as London, Paris and Sydney, and from December also on Christchurch. The class can be booked from June 1, 2022.

Premium Economy Class has already been installed on six Airbus A-380s and according to Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airlines, the feedback from passengers has been positive and demand has been enormous. The plan is to introduce it on the entire route network of the golf carrier. The conversion program will start in November 2022 and 67 Airbus A-380 and 53 Boeing B-777 will be equipped with Premium Economy, 56 seats in the A-380 and 24 seats in the B-777. It will then be available on a total of 126 aircraft.

Comfort on the ground and in the air

Premium Economy - Passengers can enjoy a dedicated check-in area at Dubai International Airport or use the numerous self-service check-in kiosks.

On board, wooden paneling creates a pleasant atmosphere. The cream-colored leather seats offer a seat pitch of up to 102cm and are 50cm wide. The backward tilt is 20cm, which gives a comfortable resting position with seat and calf supports. Soft blankets and pillows made from recycled plastic bottles and amenity kits are provided.

Passengers are greeted with a welcome drink and meals, consisting of regionally inspired dishes with seasonal ingredients, are served on high-quality porcelain and with stainless steel cutlery. The drinks menu includes wines and after-meal digestifs and chocolates are offered.

“With Premium Economy Class, we offer travelers excellent value for money. Since we first unveiled our Premium Economy seats in January 2021, the positive response and demand has been tremendous. We currently have six A380s fitted with this cabin class. In the future, this service will also be offered on other markets in our network. In November this year, we will begin our retrofit program, adding Premium Economy to 67 A380s and 53 Boeing 777s. In the end there will be 126 aircraft,” said Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline.
