So far, Emirates has not had any premium economy class on offer. That is now changing, because the latest Airbus A380 now has such a transport class built into it. There are also some innovations in Business and First.

Emirates received their latest A380 from the Airbus plant in Hamburg-Finkenwerder last week. The five other A380s still on order will also be delivered with the premium economy cabin in 2021 and 2022. The premium economy seats will also be installed on some Emirates Boeing 777Xs that will join the fleet in 2023. Emirates is also considering retrofitting its existing A380 fleet. Emirates will announce in the coming weeks where the Premium Economy product will be used. The following video shows the Emirates Premium Economy experience.

“The Emirates A380 is already one of the most sought-after travel experiences in the sky, and now we've made it even better. While others are cutting back, Emirates is working hard to restore its product and services that we have had to suspend or adjust due to the pandemic precautionary measures. We are also introducing new offers and improvements. In keeping with our “Fly Better” brand promise, Emirates continues to invest to provide our customers with the best possible experience, ”said Emirates CEO Tim Clark. “Our premium economy product has been carefully designed to match Emirates' brand positioning as a full service airline of the highest quality. Our First, Business and Economy cabins set new standards in the industry when they were introduced, and we are confident that our Premium Economy will also establish itself as a clear premium offer. Until we have a sufficient number of seats to bring to market, we plan to offer the Emirates Premium Economy experience as a free upgrade to select customers. We will also use our latest A380 aircraft on various routes so that our passengers can experience the latest offer in all classes ”

Premium Economy

The Emirates Premium Economy cabin has 56 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration. With a generous seat pitch of up to 40 inches, the premium economy seat is 19,5 inches wide and can be adjusted by 8 inches to a comfortable position with plenty of space to stretch out. Each seat is upholstered in cream-colored, stain-proof leather, has a wooden paneling similar to that in Business Class and offers optimum comfort with six-way adjustable headrests, calf rests and footrests. Each seat is equipped with a 13,3-inch screen, one of the largest in its class, for enjoying the unique range of music, films, TV, news and other content on the award-winning in-flight entertainment program ice. The seats also offer well thought-out details such as easily accessible charging stations on the seats, a wide dining table and a side cocktail table. The Emirates Premium Economy is located in the front part of the main deck and has two toilets that are exclusively intended for these customers.

First Class

In this latest Emirates A380, the 14 first class private suites have been further improved over the original suites. They are slightly wider and have taller doors for even more privacy and comfort. The details in the cabin have also been freshened up with new motifs and colors, from the curved staircase that leads from the main deck to the upper deck to the new design moldings and modern fittings in the spa showers.

Business Class

Emirates has retained its popular A380 business class seats, which provide direct aisle access for every passenger, reclining to a fully flat position, and custom minibars, ample personal storage space and a high level of privacy. All 76 seats have been refreshed and now have champagne-colored leather upholstery and wood paneling inspired by executive jets, similar to the business class of Emirates' Boeing 777 Gamechanger. The same classic color scheme was also used in the on-board lounge in the rear part of the upper deck, which is exclusively available to passengers in First and Business Class.

Economy

Emirates has replaced all 338 economy seats on board its latest A380 with ergonomically designed seats that feature full leather headrests and flexible side panels that can be adjusted vertically for optimal support. This latest seat model is an evolution of the version currently installed in the Boeing 777 Gamechanger. Each seat has a fine wood grain finish on the side tables and a personal 13,3-inch screen.

Refreshed cabin interior

In the entire interior of the new Emirates A380, passengers will find new surfaces and design accents with the Ghaf tree motif as well as the clear and airy color scheme in champagne with wood paneling and bronze accents from the latest Boeing 777 Gamechanger interior. The ghaf, a native, evergreen plant, is considered the national tree of the United Arab Emirates and has great cultural and ecological significance. All cabin classes are equipped with the latest generation of the award-winning ice in-flight entertainment system, which offers improved image quality. Each screen on the seats has an extremely wide viewing angle, a touchscreen, LED backlighting and a full HD display.
