Lufthansa is moving two Airbus A330-300s from the Swiss subsidiary Edelweiss to the newly founded Eurowings Discover. Personnel representatives are now having the process checked.

Because the group-internal relocation of the aircraft could violate the conditions of state aid that the Swiss government granted Swiss and Edelweiss last year to deal with the crisis. In return for the loan guarantee, Berne demanded that Lufthansa not start up the German hubs in Frankfurt and Munich faster than Zurich.

Exactly this scenario could be realized here. The pilots' association Aeropers and two flight attendant unions have complained to the Swiss Aviation Foundation, which monitors compliance with Swiss subsidy requirements. “We have advised the foundation to ensure that there is no shift in capacities to the detriment of Switzerland as a location,” quoted the Lucerne newspaper an Aeropers spokesman.
