Due to the misery surrounding the B737-Max, the US civil aviation authority could impose further penalties on the manufacturer Boeing. Nevertheless, reports are increasing that the FAA could lift the flight ban on November 18, 2020. The actual commercial re-use is likely to drag on for a few weeks or months.
The Wall Street Journal reports, citing unspecified insiders, that Boeing is now also investigating production defects in the Dreamliner. It is also alleged that the manufacturer should initially not have submitted relevant internal documents to the authority in relation to the Boeing 737-Max. The further development therefore remains to be seen. The aircraft manufacturer has already received some fines.
