Together with its strategic partner EHang, FACC is setting another important milestone in the development of the urban mobility of the future: The autonomous aircraft EHang 216 produced by FACC completed a successful test flight on Monday and received the test license from Austro Control on the basis of the tests carried out.
This enables FACC to promote other important flight test programs together with other companies in the industry, research institutions and authorities. The EHang 216 is currently the most advanced autonomous aircraft on the market. The aircraft has already completed several thousand manned flight hours in China and in May received the world's first approval for commercial operation for logistical purposes from the Chinese Civil Aviation Authority (CAAC).
“The successful test flight of our autonomous flying taxi in Austrian airspace is the starting signal for a comprehensive test program for EHang 216. We are thus creating the basis for the approval of an innovative, highly flexible and sustainable traffic and transport solution for urban conurbations. I am very proud of the entire team and congratulate them on this groundbreaking milestone, ”said FACC boss Robert Machtlinger about the successful test and the trial approval.
