The Hungarian Győr-Pér Airport has not yet been served by Wizz Air, but the carrier recently looked for staff in job advertisements. However, the low-cost airline waves it away and explains, among other things, that a mistake has crept in.

A few years ago the runway at the Hungarian airport Győr-Pér was extended. Rumors quickly emerged that the airport, which is mainly used by Audi, could become a base for the low-cost airline Wizz Air. The carrier was recently looking for staff, and the job advertisements explicitly referred to "Base Györ".

A possible scheduled flight operation from the Hungarian airport is treated as a serious competitor due to its proximity to Vienna and Bratislava. According to Wizz Air, this will not happen because a spokeswoman for the low-cost airline told Aviation Direct that an error had crept into the job advertisements.

“Wizz Air is not opening a base in Györ. Only a general recruitment day was held, ”said the media officer. The job advertisement concerned said that flight attendants were being sought for the new Györ base.
