From Monday Finnair will resume flights from the UK and Ireland as to Finland. The aviation authority Traficom granted the corresponding approval. From January 28, 2021, all persons who want to enter Finland by air must present a negative corona result before departure.
People who have already survived Covid-19 can also provide proof of this. Only travelers who change trains in Helsinki but do not enter the country are exempt from the obligation. Finnair announced that a check will be carried out at the check-in or at the gate to determine whether there is a negative test result or evidence that an illness has been overcome. If necessary, boarding will be refused.
"This requirement complements our other comprehensive measures on board and at airports to ensure safe travel during the pandemic," explains Jaakko Schildt, Chief Operating Officer at Finnair.
