Around 30 percent of all passengers in Europe had to put up with delays, compared to 17 percent of passengers who started late last year. Great Britain, Turkey and Germany presented the most problem areas for flight cancellations and delays.
The year 2023 was subject to numerous delays in Europe, as can be seen from the example of the British. In this specific case, Great Britain had the most flight delays in terms of the number of passengers involved in 2023. The United Kingdom ranks first with six million delayed passengers, closely followed by Turkey, which can produce 5,5 million delayed passengers. In Germany, third place, 4,7 million passengers started late. In a European comparison, passenger delays are even more significant: in the first quarter of 2023, almost 32 million passengers were delayed.
