The Norwegian startup Flyr received AOC and an operating license from the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority. This means that - at least from a legal point of view - nothing stands in the way of the first flight announced for June 30, 2021.
Initially, the carrier wants to fly between Oslo and Tromsø, i.e. inland. Gradually, destinations in other European countries are also to be approached. The first aircraft is a Boeing 737-800 with the registration LN-FGA. The machine has already been taken over by Flyr. At the end of June / beginning of July 2021, two more identical medium-haul jets are to be added.
“For the future, the company plans to gradually expand its offering through a step-by-step expansion. Initially focused on domestic Norway with selected European holiday destinations, then gradually expanded the European presence before completing a full Norwegian and European demand-oriented offering, ”said Flyr in a press release.
