In the coming week, the Easter holidays will begin in Hesse and in other federal states around Frankfurt Airport. Airport operator Fraport expects a significant increase in traffic.

Up to 170.000 travelers per day are forecast – 245 destinations are available. About 1.100 aircraft will take off and land in FRA every day, according to a broadcast. “People can finally travel again and want to go out into the world – we are very happy about that. Nevertheless, we must continue to act cautiously and prudently. Many pandemic-related rules still apply,” explains Alexander Laukenmann, Head of the Aviation Division. "Therefore, there is still an increased need for time in the travel process."

In addition, starting tomorrow, the mask requirement will also be lifted in general - also in the terminals. However, the airport still advises caution and encourages passengers to continue wearing face masks indoors or on the Sky Line shuttle bus.
