Another VIP terminal was put into operation at Frankfurt Airport. This is located in Arrivals Area A of Terminal 1. The two-story facility with a total area of 1.700 square meters is primarily used to receive arriving and departing VIP passengers. The new VIP terminal complements the existing VIP facilities in Passenger Area B, which is now primarily used as a transit lounge for transfer passengers.

The planning and construction phase of the VIP terminal lasted around two years and the construction costs amounted to around 20 million euros. The project uses existing building space by redesigning areas previously used by airlines. Up to 100 guests can be accommodated in the VIP terminal for exclusive events, even if the invited guests have not booked flights.

The VIP terminal has an imposing but discreetly screened entrance right at the beginning of the terminal road. The reception area has its own parking facilities and charging stations for electric vehicles. Inside, the VIP terminal has two spacious rooms for common use: the Global Lounge has an exquisite bar, while the library enchants passengers with its sophisticated calm. Guests can choose from a wide range of reading material and illustrated books.

“Our VIP Services division can look back on more than 50 years of tradition and an always holistic approach. Nevertheless, we are always striving to renew our offer and to set innovative accents in order to inspire our discerning customers with a unique mixture of exclusivity and a feel-good atmosphere. With the new VIP terminal, we can once again offer our passengers a new, luxurious travel experience that does justice to the tradition of our internationally recognized top product,” Anke Giesen, Executive Director Retail and Real Estate at Fraport AG.

Aside from the common areas, the VIP terminal has three private suites that allow for discreet accommodation and two conference rooms for delegations and business meetings. A gaming lounge with pinball and arcade machines is available for leisure activities. A cigar lounge offers a fine selection of cigars. There is even a separate Greeters' Suite for welcoming guests, while drivers can relax in the Chauffeurs' Area.

With around 30.000 guests, the VIP service recorded its highest passenger volume to date in 2019. Although the numbers are not quite back to the pre-crisis level, Giesen is confident: "Demand is increasing - and with our attractive new offer, we are well positioned to meet this need at exactly the right time."

VIP care at Frankfurt Airport can be booked independently of the airline and the flight booking class. The facilities and services are available to everyone who wants to enjoy a special luxury. Prices for single travelers start at 430 euros, further passengers in the same group pay 240 euros each.

The big advantage over other VIP services is that Frankfurt Airport VIP Service takes care of the entire travel process, apart from a few check-in procedures. The VIP services have their own security checks, immigration facilities and shopping facilities. The service includes support from a dedicated VIP agent, handling of all travel formalities, a stay in the lounge of up to three hours, catering and transfer in an exclusive limousine between the aircraft and the lounge.
