The volume of traffic at Friedrichshafen Airport is currently very tight. The airport has now been released from the obligation to operate. As a result, the airport can only be used with advance notice.
The operating company wants to save costs with this process. For so-called athletes (fire brigade category 2, maximum body length of 12 meters, maximum body width of two meters), exceptions apply on Sundays, public holidays and Saturdays. They can use the infrastructure between 10 a.m. and 00 p.m. without prior notification.
If there are recuperations in scheduled and charter traffic beforehand, this regulation can also be eased earlier. Pilots who are planning flights to / from Friedrichshafen report to the airport's air traffic control between 8:00 a.m. and 17:00 p.m. local time. This office then examines the corresponding possibilities and available capacities.
Registrations are free of charge. Basically, a lead time of at least three hours should be adhered to, but this can also be undercut if staffing is already ongoing or has been requested. Inquiries can be sent by email to [email protected], by telephone on 07541-284120 or via the website to the airport operator (general aviation operating hours). Processing will only take place within the above-mentioned occupation times.
