The low-cost airline Easyjet Switzerland has taken over the HB-AYE, the first Airbus A320neo. The medium-haul jet is based in Geneva and made its first commercial flight to Santiago de Compostela.
Originally, the management of the Swiss offshoot of the orange low-cost airline announced that it would have a total of five Airbus A2021neo by the end of 320. That is no longer possible, because now we are talking about the “first quarter of 2022”. The planes are to be stationed in Geneva and Basel, although it has not yet been decided how many A320neos will be used from which of the two airports.
With the fleet of Airbus A320neo, older aircraft of the types A319 and A320 are to be replaced. Easyjet Switzerland currently has 22 A320s, five A319s and now also one A320neo.
