A few weeks ago, two Norwegian subsidiaries filed for bankruptcy protection in Ireland. The competent court has now extended the deadline to February 25, 2021. The group communicated this in an ad-hoc stock exchange announcement.

This gives Norwegian Air Shuttle more time to present a recovery plan and obtain creditors' approval. Most recently, the Norwegian government signaled that now but a government-guaranteed loan could be granted. This was still refused in November 2020, which is why the low-cost airline has applied for bankruptcy protection in both Ireland and Norway.
