Since today there are flights again with Corendon Airlines to Gran Canaria after a long break. In addition to numerous flight connections to important transfer airports, direct flights to German economic centers as well as flights to two attractive holiday destinations can be found in the current winter flight schedule.
Graz is connected to a total of five major transfer airports in the winter flight schedule. Direct flights to Stuttgart and Düsseldorf are to round off the scheduled program. The important transfer airports Frankfurt, Munich and Vienna are offered several times a day, Amsterdam is on the program up to five times a week and Zurich three times a week. For active holidaymakers and those looking for relaxation, there are two popular holiday destinations in Hurghada - and since today - Gran Canaria, which can be reached directly from Graz: to Gran Canaria on Wednesdays, to Hurghada on Saturdays since the beginning of October.
"By reconnecting almost all of the usual scheduled destinations, we are supporting the development of the Styrian economy and tourism," says Wolfgang Grimus, Managing Director of Graz Airport. “We see a positive trend both in the business travel segment and in private travel. After a winter without holiday flights, we are particularly pleased that we have not only Hurghada, but also Gran Canaria, with Corendon Airlines as the only provider that has not been offered direct flights for years, in our flight schedule ”.
The direction is right
Graz Airport has recorded a clear upward trend since June. According to the company, there was a steadily increasing demand for both business and leisure trips. In the months from June to October, the number of passengers more than tripled to around 164.000 compared to 2020.
“This upswing makes us confident for the coming months,” continues Grimms. "Although the number of passengers this summer is below the level of 2019 due to the lockdowns and long-term travel restrictions, the development of Graz Airport is comparable to that of many other European airports."
