With Sky Express, the airline offer in the northern German port city is growing. The Greek carrier is taking off from Hamburg Airport for the first time.

Just in time for the start of the north German summer vacation, the airline will fly on Tuesdays and Sundays with Airbus A320neo aircraft to the capital of Crete, Heraklion, as the airport company announced.

“The demand from our passengers, especially for Greek destinations, is currently very high. Greece is trendy ”, says airport director Dirk Behrens. In summer, 25.000 to 30.000 people are expected to fly in or land in Hamburg every day. The number of flight movements will reach 60 to 70 percent of the pre-Corona year 2019.
