The US logistics company made significantly more sales in the most recent fiscal quarter.
Revenue increased by eight percent year-on-year to $24,4 billion (€23,2 billion), according to the German aviation portal Aero. Operating profit rose by seven percent to $1,9 billion, not least thanks to higher package prices. FedEx and competitors such as UPS and DHL benefited greatly from the boom in online orders during the pandemic. However, they are struggling with supply chain issues and higher labor and transportation costs. Nevertheless, the group gave a better business outlook for the current year than expected by analysts. That was well received by investors – the shares initially rose by around three percent in after-hours trading.
