A new low-cost airline is to be launched in Canada under the brand name Lynx Air. The company will initially deploy three Boeing 737 Max from Calgary. Orders have already been placed for 46 more copies.
Lynx Air is not entirely new, as it concerns the existing aviation company Enerjet. Up until now, it has specialized in charter and ACMI services. With the machine type DHC-6 Twin Otter one was also active in the area of worker flights to oil fields.
Now they want to carry out a large-scale expansion under the new brand name Lynx Air. For this purpose, 46 Boeing 737 Maxs, which are to be delivered within the next seven years, have been ordered. The first three machines are to be used from the Calgary home base from next year. One wants to position oneself as an ultra-lowcoster.
